Shakopee Official in Running to Be Burnsville City Manager
Out of a field of 32, Shakopee City administrator Mark McNeill is one of just three candidates to make the cut.

Shakopee could soon lose its longtime city administrator to a nearby town: Mark McNeill has been named one of three finalists for Burnsville's top spot.
The City of Burnsville made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon, with less than three days left on the clock for retiring City Manager Craig Ebeling. Recruiting consultant Springsted Incorporated began with a pool of 32 candidates, which was whittled to five and now three. The three finalists were chosen by a council-appointed panel consisting of five city staff and two community members.

- Heather Johnston, Director of Administrative Services and Chief Financial Officer at the City of Burnsville.
- Walter Wysopal, city manager of North St. Paul.
The council will interview the remaining three on April 2.
Ebeling's last day is March 29. Steve Albrecht, Burnsville's public works director, will serve as the interim city manager until a replacement is hired.
