Storm Dumps Five Inches of Snow on Shakopee

As expected, Winter Storm Q has brought about five inches of snow to Shakopee, and another inch or so could fall today. Snow is expected to continue falling until 12:45 a.m. and a weather advisory is still in effect.

Shakopee schools are open as usual, but enough snow has fallen that commuters are facing a long, hazardous drive, and Shakopee's plowing operation have gone into effect. Major roadways are being cleared first, followed by collector and residential streets. Plowing began at 2 a.m. this morning.

On-street parking is prohibited until plowing is complete.
