Tabke Takes the Camel Race at Canterbury Park's Extreme Race Day

Canterbury Park's sixth annual Extreme Race Day, featured three stakes races on a ten-race program, plus exhibition races by camels and ostriches.

Shakopee Mayor Brad Tabke's camel left the others in the dust Saturday at .

"How 'bout that?" Tabke asked after his camel shot out of the gate and took off toward a group of photographers, before winning by a landslide. Three other camels in the exhibition never came close to Tabke's speedy even-toed ungulate.

Tabke said his role was mostly was just hanging on as the camel did what it wanted.
