Turn Candy into Cash in Shakopee
St. Francis Regional Medical Center will buy back your Halloween candy Nov. 1.

You don' t even have it yet but Shakopee’s in partnership with , , and – wants to buy your excess Halloween candy for a good cause.
The Halloween Candy Buy Back event will take place from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 in the main entrance lobby at St. Francis. Children will be paid $1 per pound of candy by St. Francis and for every pound of candy bought back, St. Francis will donate $2 to the new Jordan Area Food Shelf. The candy must be unopened so it can be sent to the troops overseas. Children are encouraged to write notes and draw pictures for the troops to accompany the candy.  In the past two years, St. Francis has bought back 1,384 pounds from 400 local children to send to the troops.Â
St. Francis donates the candy to the troops in partnership with the Armed Forces Service Center (AFSC) at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport.
