Mystic Comedy Club Presents Ryan Stout

Comedian and TV Host Ryan Stout will appear on the Mystic stage this weekend, fresh from an appearance on Chelsey Lately. Stout got his big break after winning the Boston Comedy Festival in 2005. Sicne then, he's made frequent appearances on late night TV, Comedy Central and has hosted on MTV as well.

Comedy Central describes him thusly:

Legendary rock 'n' roll journalist Ben Fong-Torres described Ryan Stout as "...a straight-arrow-looking kind of guy, [who] shocks the crowd into laughter with his inventive interplay between innocence and a jarringly twisted point of view. He goes from loony to weirdly logical. With him, it's more than clever writing; his comedy is based on clear and clever thinking."

In general, Ryan Stout loves to explore morally repugnant subject matter with smart and sterile objectivity. His exaggerated honesty, delightful insincerity and cute self-righteousness sell his wickedly witty material. No matter what the topic, this suit clad comic appeals to everyone's sense of logic. And to assure his brand of "offensive humor" stays on an intellectual level, he tries to keep swear words out of his act. Oh, he'll talk about genocide and abortion, but it won't be filthy.

The show will also feature Mat Alano-Martin. Showtimes are: Friday, March 22, 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $19.

Burnsville Visual Arts Society's Annual Art Fete

BVAS presents its 31st annual Art Fete, a members’ show consisting of artwork. The exhibit runs from March 21 to April 26 at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.

The Mystery of Edwin Drood

This production opens tomorrow night, March 22, at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center and runs through April 7. The musical is based on Charles Dickens' unfinished story of "greed, murder and madness," but have no fear. This is no downer. The play is described as "raucous and bawdy" and a "rollicking good time." 

Tickets are $20 general admission, $17 for seniors, students, audio description and ASL patrons, and groups of 8 or more.

Easter Egg Hunt

Shakopee's annual hunt will go forward rain, shine or snow. The eggstravaganza is this Saturday, March 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Shakopee Community Center, 1255 Fuller Street South. Free.

Kids’ Used Clothing & Equipment Sale

Across I-35 in Eagan, the Minnesota Valley Mothers of Multiples organization will be hosting a Kids’ Used Clothing & Equipment Sale at the Eagan Community Center, 1501 Central Parkway. The sale begins at 11 a.m. and runs to 2 p.m. Tickets cost $2. They go on sale at the door, at 10 a.m. Cash or checks only. 

“Charlotte’s Web – The Musical”
