Wild Jacob and Jockey Scott Stevens Win $50,000 Saturday at Canterbury Park
Wild Jacob won in front of a crowd of 16,071, the seventh largest in Canterbury Park history.

Wild Jacob, guided deftly up the rail in the stretch run by Scott Stevens, won the $50,000 John Bullit Stakes Saturday at in front of a crowd of 16,071, the seventh largest in Canterbury Park history.
Owned and trained by Stanley Mankin, Wild Jacob defended his 2011 John Bullit title and is now three for three on the Canterbury turf.
Stevens waited patiently behind a speed duel between I’ll Show Them and Dakota Digger. As those two began to tire, the Canterbury Hall of Fame jockey guided Wild Jacob inside on the rail, pulling away to win by two lengths in 1:44.94 on a yielding turf course.
