About Carleton College:

The first private college in the Upper Midwest to have chapters of Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi, Carleton has been committed to academic excellence since its founding in 1866. The college's 1,000 acre campus is 35 miles south of Minneapolis-St. Paul in Northfield, where its 1,800 resident students and over 140 full-time faculty are near enough to the city to avoid rural isolation, yet far enough away to enjoy the advantages of small town life in the country.
