BSM Lacrosse Players up for Top Player, Goalie Awards

Simon Gondeck is a Mr. Lacrosse finalist, while Thomas Gilligan is up for Mr. Goalie.

Two boys lacrosse players are up for big state awards this year.

Senior Simon Gondeck is one of seven finalists for Mr. Lacrosse, while senior Thomas Gilligan is one of two finalists for Mr. Goalie.

Gondeck leads the Red Knights with 38 points (29 goals, nine assists). The 29 goals are good enough for 19th in the state, tied with three others.

Gilligan has .627 save percentage and has allowed an average of 5.5 goals per game this season. The 5.5 goals allowed per game is good for fifth in the state. Gilligan also leads the Minnesota State High School League with 10 wins in net, tied with Minnetonka's Nick Larson

With a 9-2 record, BSM is currently ranked third in the state, behind Eastview and Minnetonka. The Red Knights, who are the two-time defending state champs, finish their regular season schedule on Saturday against Holy Angels.
