Big Night for BSM, SLP Soccer Squads
Boys and girls teams from Benilde-St. Margaret's and St. Louis Park are facing off tonight—with first place on the line for all.
It's going to be a big night of soccer Tuesday at for four crosstown rivals.
At 5 p.m., visiting —ranked No. 2 in Class 1A boys soccer—will take on the Orioles in a battle for first place in the North Suburban Conference. Both teams are currently 6-0 in conference play.
At 7 p.m., a nearly identical scene will play out. The BSM girls—ranked No. 1 in Class 1A—will take on the Orioles for a first place battle of their own. As with the boys, the teams have identical 6-0 records in the NSC.

Beyond the records, the two sets of teams have a few other numbers in common. The St. Louis Park boys have allowed just two goals all year, while BSM has allowed just one. The Red Knights do have 17 more goals scored, though they have played one more game overall.
The stats are even closer on the girls side. Both teams have allowed just two scores, while BSM has a slight edge in goals scored, 38-32. Again, BSM has logged one more game than the Orioles.
