Blotter: Vacuum Nabbed From Target
St. Louis Park police also responded to several home break-ins in recent weeks.

March 19: A 23-year-old woman reported that her apartment in the 4400 block of Park Glen Road had been burglarized while she was away for a few days. Police found the front door pried open. Stolen were two laptops, some jewelry and a bottle of vodka from the freezer. The freezer was also left open, causing food to spoil. The unknown suspect(s) reportedly used pillow cases from the residence to steal the items.
March 19: A 37-year-old man reported that he was assaulted by a panhandler while trying to take his picture near Excelsior Boulevard and Highway 100. The man told police he was simply trying to help prevent local crime by photographing area panhandlers. The man sustained several minor bruises and no charges have been filed.

March 20: Two men reportedly stole a vacuum cleaner from by running out a fire exit, then leaving the area in a car. Surveillance shows that one man is white, about 20-29 years old, about 5-feet, 9-inches tall and 180 pounds, with dark hair and a goatee. The other man is Hispanic, about 20-29 years old, about 5-feet, 7-inches tall and 170 pounds, with short, dark hair. The suspects have not been further identified.
March 20: A theft was reported at the . An employee said a black male, with a tall, skinny build, wearing a dark sweatshirt and tan pants, grabbed four handbags and walked out of the store. The four bags are worth a total of about $900.

March 21: A 58-year-old woman reported that her vehicle was stolen from in front of her property in the 6900 block of Meadowbrook Boulevard. The woman said she had lost her keys outside recently. The 2002 Mazda Protege was later recovered at 25th Street and Bryant Avenue North in Minneapolis, and a 19-year-old male driver was taken into custody.
March 21: Police responded to a home in the 3000 block of Kentucky Avenue on a report of a burglary. A 48-year-old woman said her TV and an iPod were stolen. Police discovered a basement window open with the screen removed. The woman said she had left the window open while away for the day. The unknown suspect likely entered here, then exited out the back door.
