The Just Deeds Project was founded by a coalition of attorneys, realtors and nonprofits to help homeowners locate and discharge racially restrictive language from their property titles. Historically, racial covenants have most significantly targeted, impacted and contributed to systemically limiting access to housing for those from Black communities, as well as members of communities who did not identify as white.
