The St. Louis Park and Edina police departments announced Dec. 17 that two suspects were arrested Thursday, Dec. 16, in the attempted carjackings that occurred in St. Louis Park and Edina Dec. 9. The two suspects are in the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center awaiting charges. A third suspect is still at large.

The arrests of the two suspects Thursday were conducted by the Edina and St. Louis Park police departments, and made possible by their close collaboration with Hennepin and Ramsey County Sheriff’s Offices, the Hennepin County Violent Offender Task Force, Southwest Metro Drug Task Force, Hennepin County CISA and Minneapolis Police Department. The St. Louis Park and Edina police departments continue to work with other metro area law enforcement agencies in the continued investigation of these incidents.

Both police departments continue to maintain an increased patrol presence around their cities. Be sure to stay aware of your surroundings and reduce the risk of carjackings and vehicle thefts with these tips.

The St. Louis Park Police Department continues to offer a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspects in the Nov. 29 and Dec. 9 attempted carjackings and a Dec. 6 purse robbery in St. Louis Park. Anyone with information about these suspects or about these incidents is asked to call the St. Louis Park Police Department at 952.924.2618 or Crime Stoppers of Minnesota at 1.800.222.8477 or www.crimestoppersmn.org.

The Edina Crime Prevention Fund continues to offer a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of all those involved in this case. The ECPF is the sole judge of any point of contention regarding the reward and any decision on any issue connected with the reward is final. Those with information should call the Edina Police Department’s non-emergency line, 952.826.1600, any time of day.
