The St. Louis Park Police Department is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspects in recent attempted carjackings and a robbery in St. Louis Park. Details of the three incidents, believed to have been carried out by the same suspects, are below. Photos of the suspects, taken from security cameras at Bridgewater Bank and at the Richfield Target Dec. 6; and by a FOX9 photojournalist at the Lunds & Byerlys Dec. 9, are included.

  • On Nov. 29, 2021, at 7:56 p.m. there was an attempted carjacking at Bridgewater Bank, 4450 Excelsior Blvd., St. Louis Park. Three young males implied they had a gun and demanded the victim’s keys as he was approaching his car. The victim was able to run back into the building.The suspects left the area in a black Dodge Durango. The victim described the suspects as young Somali males, because they spoke to the victim in his native Somali language. Investigators believe the victim was followed into the bank parking lot.
  • On Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at 5:30 p.m., a female was robbed of her purse while in the parking lot at Lunds & Byerlys, 3777 Park Center Blvd., St. Louis Park. She was uninjured. St. Louis Park police officers were called a short time later and checked the area for the suspect’s getaway vehicle, described as a light-colored SUV. Credit cards stolen in the incident were later attempted to be used at stores in Richfield and elsewhere. The incident was recorded on video, including the suspect and vehicle involved.
  • On Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at 3:15 p.m. the St. Louis Park Police Department was called to Lunds & Byerlys, 3777 Park Center Blvd., St. Louis Park, on a report of an attempted carjacking. The suspects attempted unsuccessfully to wrestle a male out of the vehicle. The male sustained minor injuries. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a light-colored SUV.

The St. Louis Park Police Department is working cooperatively with other metro area police departments to investigate these incidents and identify the suspects, who are believed to have been involved in other crimes around the Twin Cities area. These incidents are not believed to be connected to Thanksgiving weekend carjackings in the Fern Hill neighborhood of St. Louis Park.
