Letter to Editor: Join Me in Supporting Johnston-Madison for Council

The St. Louis Park City Council election is Nov. 8.

Please join me to support Claudia Johnston-Madison's candidacy for St. Louis Park City Council by voting for her on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Claudia is a strong supporter of making sure St. Louis Park remains a safe and vibrant city for us to live in and enjoy.

Claudia’s participation on the Planning Commission since 2004, both as a Commissioner and Chair in 2006 and 2011, will make her transition to City Council seamless. Being a long time participant gives her first hand insight on how the City Council operates.

Most of us are concerned about fright traffic being routed through our neighborhoods. Claudia has shown leadership and voiced our concerns against the freight reroute on the St. Louis Park/Hennepin County Project Management Team. She continues to educate and update neighbors on the status of the potential freight reroute.

Her long time commitment to the Minikahda Vista neighborhood shows she’s dedicated. As a neighborhood leader myself, I know the struggles she faces, however, she continues to serve because she knows the importance of an active Neighborhood Association.

I could go on and on about why voting for Claudia would benefit us, her experience and volunteer positions are listed on her website at claudiaforcouncil.com, once you see her accomplishments you’ll understand why she wants to move into a City Council position.  I encourage you to contact her;  I know you’ll find she’s an approachable, knowledgeable, caring person that will represent you well when elected to City Council.
