Locals Ride in Wisconsin Bike Race
The Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival was held over the weekend.
Five St. Louis Park bikers were among more than 1,800 participants in the annual Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival held over the weekend in Wisconsin.
Brooks Monahan, 29, was the top local finisher, as he took 168th place in the Chequamegon 40, a 40-mile race that takes riders on wooded trails from Hayward to Cable, Wisc. Monahan's final time was 2:31:25.2.

Other St. Louis Park riders to compete in the Chequamegon 40 were 48-year-old Tom Hillstrom (3:28:26.4), 30-year-old Ben Halsten (3:47:04.6) and 39-year-old Jeffrey Lindsay (3:53:51.3).
Marc Nevinski, 39, finished in 525th place out of 882 racers in the Short and Fat 16-mile race. His time was 1:31:42.1.
