Orioles Hoopsters Get a Win on Coaches Night

St. Louis Park topped Chisago Lakes in boys basketball on Tuesday, 61-47.

After a sluggish start, the boys basketball team picked up steam and rolled to a 61-47 win over Chisago Lakes in the last home game of the regular season on Tuesday night.

The Orioles (13-12 overall, 9-6 in North Suburban Conference) trailed the Wildcats (5-19, 3-11) 25-23 at halftime, but used a 38-22 second half to pull ahead and put the game away.

Makhi Moore led the way with 12 points for Park, while Charley Koch added 11 and Sam Brimacomb had nine. Kashif Hayes, who leads the Orioles in scoring with 17 per game, was relatively quiet with only four on Tuesday.

Before the game, all of St. Louis Park's coaches were honored during a brief ceremony.

The Orioles finish the regular season with a Friday road game against Fridley. The Section 6AAAA playoffs then begin on March 6.
