The in St. Louis Park has named Joshua Wert as its new Chief Executive Officer effective Oct. 3.
Wert is currently the Chief Operating Officer for Black Ridge Oil & Gas, Inc. and the former President of COPYCATS Media. He has been active in the Jewish community for more than two decades as a volunteer and board member in various organizations, including the Minneapolis Jewish Family and Children’s Services, the University of Minnesota Jewish Law Caucus and the Heillicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School.
He has an MBA from the University of Minnesota, a JD from the University of Minnesota Law School, and started his career as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.

“Joshua is the right person at the right time for the Sabes JCC,” said Larry Chestler, Sabes JCC Board of Directors president, in a press release. “His strong business and entrepreneurial background, coupled with his commitment to the Jewish community, makes him the ideal leader at this pivotal moment in our history.”
The Sabes JCC offers a variety of services and programs to the community, such as a fitness center, regular art exhibits and the Helicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School.

“The Sabes JCC is one of our community’s most valuable assets,” Wert said in the release. “I am excited to have the opportunity to work with such a talented and passionate staff, and to partner with donors, members, and the community at large to further strengthen the Sabes JCC mission.
