SLP Council Approves 4 Percent Utility Rate Hike
An average family will pay about $40 more per year starting in January.

Starting Jan. 1, St. Louis Park residents will pay an average of $3.32 more per month for utilities.
The city council unanimously approved a utility rate hike at its Monday meeting.
A family of four using 90,000 gallons of water and 240 gallons of solid waste service per year will pay $39.80, or 4.32 percent, more than they did in 2013, according to a staff analysis.
"To any residents who are concerned about their utility bills, it's under their control to reduce the size of their bills by switching to a smaller trash cart and recycling more instead," council member Sue Sanger said.
