A St. Louis Park couple in their sixties was defrauded out of $7,200 from their joint bank account.
Around Sept. 2 the couple noticed that their Trust One Credit Union checking and savings accounts had been emptied. The couple had $6,900 in their savings account and about $300 in their checking.
Police said that forged checks were cashed at an unknown casino between May and August. The numbers of the cashed checks were out of range with the couple’s account, suggesting a counterfeit job.
