SLP Getting Involved With Governor's Fishing Opener

For anglers worried about upsetting their significant others by fishing this Mother's Day—and Governor's Fishing Opener—weekend, Discover St. Louis Park has a solution.

The local convention and visitors bureau will be giving away "I'm sorry I went fishing on Mother's Day weekend" Getaway Kits. The kits will feature water bottles with forms inside, which are intended as mea culpas to the fishermen's lovely ladies.

These forms are to be filled out by the anglers, with them promising that they'll make it up to their sweeties by planning a fun weekend in St. Louis Park. The slips then go back in the water bottles, and then the entire package is presented as a beautiful gift.

Will this work? Who knows. But hey, at least it's a creative way for St. Louis Park to market itself.
