A 45-year-old St. Louis Park man went into the SLP Police Department on Mar. 22 to report receiving harassing emails from himself.

The man told police he had cheated on his ex-girlfriend and suspected she might have something to do with it. The victim stated his ex-girlfriend at one point had his wallet, which contained all of his passwords.

Police report the man brought along copies of the emails, coming from his own email address, which threatened to "destroy him." The emails were reportedly being automatically deleted once they were opened, the SLP man reported.

The victim told officers he wasn't sure exactly who might be behind the emails, but he suspected a male living with his ex-girlfriend "who has experience with computers" might have something to do with it.

The man and his 75-year-old mother both told police they simply wanted to document the harassing emails, as they share an account. They were reportedly given information about harassment orders and identity theft, but said they would rather not have police contact the man's ex-girlfriend at this point.
