St. Louis Park Man Thwarts Craigslist Swindler
The man was trying to sell his motorcycle racing suit on Craigslist.

A 23-year-old St. Louis Park man trying to sell his Teknic motorcycle racing suit on Craigslist called police after someone attempted to defraud him.
A respondent to the St. Louis Park man’s ad mailed him a check for $2,420.18 from a Rockville, Md., address. The check was written from Title-Smart.com, an insurance company.
Then the St. Louis Park man received an email saying that the check was for too much money, asking him to wire $1,920.18 to a Los Angeles address.

At Western Union, he was told he was being scammed.
When he confronted the Craigslist respondent, he received an email that read, “This is the hauler head office where the payment goes to and where they will send pickup signal to any of their branch, you have nothing to worry about everything is fine.”
