SLP's Cork Headed to State Ski Meet

The senior finished fourth in Wednesday's sectional final.

senior Michael Cork will be headed back to the state ski meet.

Cork finished in fourth place at Wednesday's Section 6 final, held at the Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Grove. He was the only local skier to advance to state.

Last year, Cork took 90th overall at the state meet. This year's event is scheduled for Feb. 16 at Giants Ridge in Biwabik, MN.

Michael's younger brother, freshman Sean Cork, nearly made it to state himself, as he finished in 12th—one spot out of the qualifying field.
