July 12 — St. Louis Park assistant superintendent Bob Laney is among five candidates for the Lakeville superintendent job, Lakeville Patch .
Laney, who also doubles as the district's director of human resources, was unsuccessful in a bid to become Stillwater's superintendent in March.

Toni Johns from the consulting group told Lakeville Patch that Laney got high marks for dealing with the difficult in St. Louis Park.
“He builds trust by the way he interacts with people and builds long-term relationships,” Johns added.

Laney is scheduled to interview with the Lakeville School Board this afternoon. The board is then expected to narrow its list down to two or three. Finalists will have more in-depth interviews in the next few weeks.
