For me, a good relationship with one's mother is marked by the fact that, as you grow older, you actually start to realize she's a pretty neat person—and a good friend, too.
That's what I have with my mother (who happens to be a Patch user—go say "hi" to ! Oh, and she wrote a great last year).
Of course, we've had our share of arguments over the 24 years of my life, particularily during my teenage existence. But as I've grown older and (hopefully) wiser and more mature, our relationship has grown as well. These days, I think we understand and respect each other as adults, and we actually get along pretty well when we're together.

Yes, my mother has raised—and disciplined—me well, but I'm saying thanks today because she has also become a trusted friend and someone to lean on. To me, that means the world, and I love her for it.
What has you saying "thanks" and "I love you" to your mom? Now through Mother's Day on Sunday, post your thank-you note as a comment below. You can also share a photo of you with your mother (like I did) by clicking "Upload Photos and Videos" above.
