UPDATED: Accent Signage Owner Dies In Shooting: #9 Top Story of 2012

On Sept. 27, Reuven Rahamim, 61, went to work at the company he founded, Accent Signage Systems. Late that afternoon, an employee that had just been fired took out a gun and shot Rahamim and other Accent employees. Andrew Engeldinger then shot himself. Six employees and the gunman died as a result of the shootings that day.

In late October, his family members said the business will continue. Late last month, the Southwest Journal reported that members of the Bryn Mawr neighborhood are discussing a memorial to the shooting victims and a possible gathering to honor them next summer.

After the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT, Rahamim's son, to join Mayor Michael Bloomberg and others in an effort to end gun violence.
This story is a true senseless tragedy. We only have to look at the picture of Rahamim and his granddaughter and our hearts again ache for the families of this St. Louis Park man and his co-workers.
