Two Benilde Wrestlers Will Be in the State Semifinals

Oftedahl and DuLaney won both of their Friday matches. Allar and Kass also will wrestle again Saturday. Deutschlander and Anderson were eliminated Friday.

Two Benilde-St. Margaret's wrestlers have advanced to the state Class AA individual semifinals at their respective weight classes.

Jarred Oftedahl needed just over four minutes to score two pins Friday and advance to the semifinals at 113 pounds. He pinned Chris Pettis of St. Peter in 50 seconds to reach the quarterfinals, where he pinned Kyle Schoenecker of Chisago Lakes area in 3:11.

Oftedahl is now guaranteed a top-six finish, and needs to win his next two matches to claim a state championship. He'll meet Skyler Petry (39-0) of WEM/JWP in the semis and could have to face another unbeaten wrestler, Abbot Aho (41-0) of Fergus Falls, in the finals.
