$600M Powerball Jackpot Estimated for Saturday Drawing

Powerball results were watched closely Wednesday when the jackpot was $363 million. After no one picked all six winning numbers, the new Powerball prize for the Saturday, May 18, 2013 drawing is now up to $600 million.

The one-time cash payout is estimated at $376.9 million. Tickets are $2 and the game is played in Minnesota and 42 other states, including Florida, Texas, California and New York. 

According to the Minnesota State Lottery, as of May 1, here are a few locations where you can buy tickets in the St. Michael/Albertville area.

After the drawing, you can check out the May 18 Powerball numbers on the Minnesota State Lottery website.

The largest Powerball Jackpot cash payout to date was $384 million and was won on Nov. 28, 2012, in Arizona and Missouri.

• Don's Auto Service and Repair Inc. located at 11438 County Road 37 in Albertville
• Emma's Express located at 11966 59th Place NE in Albertville
• Heidi's Brew Wine & Spirits located at 11850 62nd Street Albertville
• Westside Liquor located at 11095 61st Stree NE in Albertville

Although no one from St. Michael has won the full jackpot, a few lucky players have brought home prize money in 2013, according to the Minnesota State Lottery website. 

A spur of the moment decision resulted in a big payout for David Hagen of Monticello. On April 25, Hagen was making a routine stop at Kwik Trip, located at 4400 O’Day Ave. N.E. in St. Michael to buy some scratch tickets and won $50,000 while playing the second ticket. 

Michael Rising of Monticello won the $28,000 Northstar Cash jackpot from the drawing on May 8, 2013. Rising purchased the winning ticket at Holiday Stationstore, 31 Babcock Blvd. in Delano.
