Annual Relay For Life Hits Albertville Friday Night
The St. Michael-Albertville Relay for Life 2012 will take over the track and football field at Middle School West Friday night.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of St. Michael-Albertville will take over the St. Michael-Albertville Athletic Complex, located at theΒ Friday night.Β
Events begin at 7 p.m. with opening ceremonies, and continue throughout the night on the track and infield (football field) until 8 a.m. Saturday morning.Β
Former and current cancer patients, those who have lost a loved one to cancer, families, businesses, faith-based and civic organizations, and anyone wanting to make a difference in the fight against cancer are taking part in this exciting team event. The Relay brings together friends, families, businesses, hospitals, schools, faith-based groupsβpeople from all walks of lifeβall aimed at celebrating the lives of those who have had cancer, remembering those lost, and fighting back against the disease.

- 5 p.m. - Silent Auction Open for Bids
- 7 p.m.Β - Opening Ceremonies
- DuskΒ - St. Michael Daze & Knights Fireworks - it's wonderful to view over the luminaria lit track
- 10 p.m. - Luminaria Ceremony & Remembrance Lap
- 6 a.m. - BreakfastΒ
Fun items at relay this year include: an in-relay 5K, Bean Bag toss, a photo booth, Crazy Hair, face painting and lap beads. Music and other games, of course, will be on tap throughout the night.
