Dates Set, Volunteers Get to Work on Friendly City Days
It's hard to think "summer" with snow up to your waist, but the Albertville Friendly City Days committee begins work on the annual celebration next week.
Albertville's annual Friendly City Days is slated for June 8 to 12, 2011.
Friendly City Days is a great way for friends and neighbors to get together and celebrate the start of summer, said director and Albertville Lions member Leroy Berning.Β
AFCD is Β held over five days in juneand includes something for everyone.Β A carnival, parade, fireworks, sporting events, live music, kids games, and a city wide garage sale are just some of the events scheduled.Β Β Local nonprofitΒ groups are very involvedΒ sponsoring the eventsΒ and serving plenty of food and refreshments for the weekend.Β

Area group leaders and committee members will be meeting to discuss the 2011 Friendly City Days.Β Anyone interested in getting involved in this year's event is welcome to attend.Β The meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 18 at Albertville City Hall.Β
