Daylight Saving Time 2012 in St. Michael

These dark mornings probably have you wondering: When does Daylight Saving Time end? And, it's also a great time to check your smoke detectors.

Those 7 a.m. commutes will get darker before they get lighter. Officially, Daylight Saving Time doesn’t end officially until 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4.

Remember, you’ll β€œfall back” and set your clocks back one hour. Many electronic devices automatically adjust when Daylight Savings Time begins or ends.

When you change your clocks in the fall and spring, it’s also a good time to change smoke detector batteries and check to make sure device are in working order.

"It's the message we tell everyone every year," said Albertville Fire Chief Tate Mills. "Now's the time to do it."

Arizona, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa do not observe Daylight Savings Time.

It begins again on March 10, 2013.
