DEVELOPING STORY: Motorcycle Accident Shuts Down I-94 Saturday

First-responders shut down the freeway after a single motorcycle lost control on the freeway around 3 p.m. Saturday.

Traffic was brought to a screeching halt Saturday afternoon east of St. Michael after a motorcycle accident on Interstate 94 shut down the eastbound lanes around 3 p.m.

Details are still sketchy, but the bike left the right lane of the eastbound roadway after losing control. Life Flight was called in by first responders on scene, which included St. Michael Fire and Rescue and the Minnesota State Patrol.

The state patrol closed the freeway for accident reconstruction and re-routed eastbound traffic via a detour through St. Michael and Rogers, with eastbound traffic getting back to the freeway at Highway 101.Β
