Commuters were met by the full brunt of this morning's storm front in Albertville around 8 a.m.
National Weather Service reports showed rainfall coming at a rate of about an inch per hour.
The deluge drastically reduced visibility (see video) and flooded some low lying spots on roads in the community.
More heavy rain is expected here today as a cold front brings dryer conditions and cooler temperatures for Wednesday and Thursday.
