I've got some good news and bad news.

The good news is that today is the 101st birthday for Girl Scouts, which is of course a great distinction, but it's also a great excuse to eat Girl Scout Cookies. Even better, this entire week is dubbed Girl Scout Week.

Here's what Anna Maria ChΓ‘vez, CEO, Girl Scouts of the USA, has to say in honor of the anniversary:

Juliette Gordon Low’s vision was to establish an organization in which any American girl could expand her horizons by having fun, exploring new interests, and contributing to society. The core of that vision was girl leadership and I am immensely proud to note that it continues to be at the center of our mission today.

In fact, as we enter our second century of service to girls, our focus on girl leadership is more intense than ever.

Now for the bad news.

If you haven't already demolished your stockpile (and who hasn't?) then you will have to go for a drive to find the closest stand selling those delicious Thin Mints and Samoas, which I think are called something different now but I haven't yet accepted that.

If you can wait until this weekend, you'll find the shortest drive from St. Michael or Albertville is to Coborn's Grocery Store at the corner of Wright County 19 (Labeaux Avenue) and 57th Street. If you know of any closer ones, post it in comments, and if your daughter is still selling cookies, feel free to post the best way for people to contact you to buy them in the comment section.

You can use this link to the Cookie Guide to see where all the cookie sale locations are, if you don't see something you like below.
