Elder Huber's Trial in St. Michael Teacher Shooting Delayed
Delbert Huber told a Kandiyohi County judge he hadn't secured an attorney for his initial hearing. As a result, the trial accusing him of killing St. Michael-Albertville teacher Timothy Larson has been delayed one week.

Delbert Huber was rolled into court by Kandiyohi County Corrections officers in a wheelchair Monday afternoon.
The 81-year-old accused of shooting a local teacher with a vintage, WWII rifle told Judge Donald M. Spilseth he hadn't secured an attorney for his initial hearing.
As a result, the trial accusing him of killing St. Michael-Albertville teacher Timothy Larson has been delayed one week, according to the West Central Tribune.

Kandiyohi County Attorney Jennifer Fischer did not object to the delay.
Huber, who is charged with second degree murder, represented himself at the appearance, but told the judge he was working to secure local representation, the Tribune report, filed this morning.

Huber's son, Timothy, made his Rule 8 hearing Monday afternoon. Both parties explained they understood the charges against Timothy Huber, including aiding and abetting his father in the murder of Tim Larson, and being an accomplice after the fact.
The charges carry a maximum sentence of 40 years in jail, equivalent to second degree murder.
Tim Huber's omnibus hearing has been set for Dec. 16 in Willmar.
Delbert Huber's omnibus hearing was scheduled for Dec. 28. The judge may or may not push that back, depending on next Monday's hearing.
