Elk River Man Nabbed After Trying To Fleece St. Michael Woman
A transaction-gone-wrong was rectified by the quick actions of the Wright County Sheriff's Department yesterday.

A Chevrolet Camaro listed for sale is back in the hands of its St. Michael owner after a transaction gone bad.
The owner, a St. Michael woman, 27, called the Wright County Sheriff's Department and informed dispatchers that she had sold a 1984 Chevrolet Camaro to a male party. Soon after the sale, the woman discovered that the car was paid for in counterfeit $100 bills.

At 10:25 p.m., a Wright County Sheriff's Deputy spotted the stolen Camaro on MinnesotaΒ Highway 24 in the city of Clearwater, about 20 miles northwest of St. Michael.
The vehicle failed to stop for the deputy and a vehicle pursuit ensued that lasted about nine miles. The vehicle eventually was disabled by spike strips and stopped on Wright County Road 7 near County Road 123. The driver then fled the vehicle on foot but was eventually taken into custody by the deputy.

The suspect has been identified as Cory Donald Wojcik, 38, of Elk River. Wojcik was booked into jail on charges of flee police in a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property.
The county is investigating the charges related to counterfeit bills.
