Friends, Community to Support Albertville Family this Weekend

Group will use games to support family who lost child last month.

The Friendly City Kickball League is at it again.

The summertime league now a distant memory, members of the FCKL are looking for “RKIs for Rowes,” as they look to support the Rowe family after the sudden death of 9-year-old Derek Rowe last month.

According to the FCKL website:

To honor Derek’s memory, support the Rowe family and celebrate life, the FCKL will be hosting a one-day, outdoor kickball tournament at Albertville Central Park on Saturday, November 23. The event will take place regardless of weather (rain, snow, sleet, sun).

The event will begin in the 8 a.m. hour on that Saturday and run approximately 12 hours

Each team will be responsible to provide an umpire for at least two games (not coinciding with your own team’s games)

We will hold a silent auction at the event

All proceeds will benefit the Rowe family

Community Support:

Donations are welcomed and encouraged (cash, gift cards, silent auction items)

We are relying on volunteers to help keep this event rolling. We’re looking for members to donate their time as umpires, concessions, administration. Please contact Mat Harrison if you’d like to volunteer.
