Minnesotans will once again be challenged to raise as much money as possible for nonprofit organizations and schools in 24 hours.

GiveMN has raised more than $70 million for over 6,700 Minnesota nonprofits. The success of Give to the Max Day has spurred similar fundraising days for states across the country. Give to the Max Day was created to increase giving to nonprofits across the state.

DONATE IN 2013:

  • This year, K-12 public schools will join the ranks of organizations that can benefit from the 24-hour giving fest. GiveMN launched “Schools on GiveMN,” allowing K-12 public schools to fundraise on the site.
  • Mobile donation is available. Minnesotans can use their smartphones and tablets to access GiveMN.org on any mobile device.

The annual day of giving is important for a couple of reasons. First, all charities participating are given a big boost in recognition thanks to the promotional efforts behind GiveMN.org and Give to the Max day. That, said local non-profit leaders, gives these organizations a day of visibility and promotion that is, at times, bigger than anything they could have paid for on their own.

Secondly, it’s a day of “matching funds.” Through Razoo and other groups, GiveMN.org is able to double the amount of money donated to most causes thanks to matching funds collected throughout the year.
