Give to the Max with St. Michael Area Charities

The organization, GiveMN, is calling today (Nov. 16) "The Great Minnesota Give-Together," as it works to raise millions of dollars for nonprofits statewide in a 24-hour time span.

The organization has set up incentives to stretch your dollar and is offering prizes throughout the day for people who give.

LIFE IN CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH: A mainstay at one of Albertville's busiest corners, Life In Christ was built in 1978 and went through a major expansion in 2002, with a dedication in 2003. The result is a modern worship space with natural lighting and room for a growing faith community. The church has a very active youth group.

STMA MOMS CLUB: Active in getting youth in the community reading, and mothers in the community involved, there are chapters in both St. Michael and Albertville. The group regularly posts events on our calendar here at St. Michael Patch. 

STMA YOUTH BASEBALL ASSOCIATION INC: A summer tradition in St. Michael and Albertville, hundreds of youth take to the diamonds each season through the youth baseball association. Competitive teams range in age from U6 to U16, and feed into the high school program. 

SAINT MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING BOOSTER CLUB: Behind every successful program is a strong booster club, and STMA wrestling is one of the most successful wrestling programs in Minnesota. The group supports wrestlers during the high school season and beyond, into summer tournaments. 

ST MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE FOOTBALL BOOSTER CLUB: Supporting football from sixth grade through the high school level, the booster club is quickly growing STMA football into a fall tradition. 

JOEY BONGAARTS SCHOLARSHIP FUND: In memory of the St. Michael-Albertville teen lost too soon, the scholarship fund supports students with interest in the arts, and has a special connection to River Lanes of St. Michael. The annual fundraiser is coming soon. 

ST MICHAEL COMMUNITY EDUCATION ENDOWMENT FUND: Provide financial support to accredited K-6 Catholic school in our community. Enrollment is at 291 students. Support helps provide educational material & technology the school may otherwise not afford. Our contribution comes from investment income of a principle balance and is based on annual performance of our investments. Staff has recently has begun seeking professional assistance in managing these funds.
