Jimmyβs Closes Doors after Second Run
The regional pizza chain is pulling out of Albertville after giving it a second try.
Owner Nick Qualle knew in April his window had just a small opening.
Now, after just three months, it appears that window has closed.
Jimmyβs Pizza has pulled out of the former Carboneβs location in Albertville, ending an unsuccessful run here after its split from Andy Thompson, now owner of Andyβs Hometowne Pizza.

Qualle and partner Bill Decker had their eye on the Jimmyβs Pizza franchise after Andy Thompson decided to fly solo with Andyβs Hometown Pizza last year. Instead, they took on Rockford, and have been a pleasant success, Qualle said.
They were given a second chance to run Albertville after the store closed its doors in March. Qualle then said he was looking forward to the opportunity, but knew Jimmyβs would only give it a certain amount of time to work.

Employees said a text was sent out Monday, telling them the store had shut down.
Qualle and Decker, both Rockford residents and members of the fire department there, will continue to operate that location.
βThere were customers here glad to have us back, but we need to grow,β Qualle said back in April. βWe know we have a certain amount of time to get this rolling again. Weβre confident.β
The closure leaves Dβs Family Pizza and Andyβs as the main two pizza delivery outlets in Albertville. St. Michael has delivery chains Pizza Hut and Dominoβs, to go with local outlet like Distractions (formerly JRβs).
Other outlets, such as $5 Pizza, Papa Murphyβs and Little Caesarβs, offer pizza for takeout only.
