Memorial, Funeral Services Set for St. Michael Girl
A memorial service for students, friends and St. Michael-Albertville High School staff will be held Thursday at Peterson Chapel in St. Michael for 16-year-old Michaela Olson, who died Sunday morning.

As the community continues to grieve the loss of another teen, the family of St. Michael 16-year-old Michaela Olson has planned a memorial in her honor set for Thursday morning.Β
St. Michael-Albertville High School students, staff and administration are invited to a memorial in Michaela's honor at 11 a.m. July 5 located in St. Michael. The memorial will end around 1 p.m.
Michaela would have been a junior at the high school this fall.Β

Visitation will open to the public from 4 to 8 p.m. later that afternoon.
Funeral services for Michaela Olson will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 6th at New Life Community, 6900 West Fish Lake Road, in Maple Grove. Pastor James Leonard will officiate.

According to an obituary posted on the Peterson Chapel website, Michaela was a devout Christian, and often took care of her two younger siblings, Johnathan and Cassandra. Her parents, DuWayne and Robin Olson of St. Michael, said she was not shy about sharing her faith with her friends.Β
DuWayne told WCCO television that Michaela had just earned her drivers' license and had registered to be an organ donor.
"Though she lived her life to the fullest, she is helping other live theirs as well,β DuWayne told WCCO.
Neighbor Hollee Saville commented to Patch that "She really was an amazing girl.Β She was so kind, so sweet, so great with our children, so loving to her siblings. Please pray for her family, that they find love, peace, and happy memories in this time."
