St. Michael-Albertville Soccer Club Names Top Refs

Two local soccer referees were recognized by the St. Michael-Albertville soccer club at its annual meeting for their efforts on the field.

St. Michael-Albertville United Soccer, each year, honors one boy and one girl for Youth Referee of the Year.

The Referee of the Year award honors those who have a strong work ethic, knowledge of the laws of the game, and are a positive role model to their fellow referees, players and coaches.

This year the club was pleased to honor Clayton Hinrichs and Rachel Bourget.

Clayton Hinrichs is a Grade 8 Referee, he refereed 28 games this year. Clayton took games at the last minute with a can do attitude. He is a natural leader,Β has a superb understanding of the laws of the game and applies them. Clayton controls game in a relaxed manner that makes a changeling job look easy.Β 

Rachel Bourget took the initiative to become a Grade 8 Referee in 2011, she refereed 24 games this year. Rachel stepped up to center many games, andΒ has not only expanded her knowledge of the laws of the game, but she has also created an exceptional presence on the field showing courage and true character.
