St. Michael City Council Set for First Meeting of 2012

The year starts off with some housekeeping items, including appointments and updates from city staff.

St. Michael City Council, with new member Chris Schumm sworn in at last month's final meeting, will hold its first official meeting of 2012 at 7 p.m. at

The agenda includes appointments for the five council members, including Mayor Jerry Zachmann, to specific boards and panels that require city involvement, from the Economic Development Committee and Planning Commission to the St. Michael-Albertville Hockey Board.

Also included on tonight's agenda is an update on the citywide recycling program. Carts were delivered by the city's contractor–Veolia–last week, with instructions tagged to the recepticles for residents to follow.
