St. Michael Residents Selected to Participate in Classic Car Event

Along with more than 100 rare and valuable classic car owners, St. Michael residents Ted and Debi Muntz with their 1951 Muntz Jet were selected to participate in the upcoming 10,000 Lakes Concours d'Elegance event, according to organizers.

The 10,000 Lakes Concours d'Elegance takes place on the shores of Lake Minnetonka in Excelsior 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013. 

The event includes a rare and valuable classic cars display, local cuisine, live musical entertainment, and more. The 10,000 Lakes Concours benefits Courage Center Foundation.

French for “Competition of Elegance,” the Concours d’Elegance will showcase automobiles selected from a field of applicants for their authenticity, beauty and style. From the pre-1923 Brass Era to pre-1974 Foreign Cars; Treasured American Classics from the 20s, 30s and 40s to American Production cars from the 50s, 60s and early 70s; nearly 100 collectible autos will be at the Excelsior Commons.

A sampling of the classics to be on display include a 1909 Ford Model T, a 1913 Hudson,  a 1924 Packard, a 1925 Bentley, a 1931 Marmon V16 (from Long Beach, Calif.), a 1937 Cord, a 1942 Chevrolet Truck, a 1954 Jaguar, a 1956 Dodge La Femme, a 1967 Alfa Romeo, a 1970 Volvo, and many more. 

Tickets will be $20 in advance; $25 on event day; kids 12 years old and under as well as active military (with ID) will receive free admission.
