Three Students Make Commended List at St. Michael-Albertville High School
The National Merit Scholar program has commended three students for their efforts on the PSAT Entrance exam.

Three young men have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship program, giving the school a grand total of five students honored by the programβa new high.Β
The students join two for their efforst on the PSAT College Entrance exam, an impressive stat the students can put on their college entrance application for sure.

Nathan Wendel, son of Melinda and Lee Wendel, St. Michael. Nathan currently studies at the University of Minnesota through St. Michael-Albertville's Post-Secondary Enrollment Option program, and hopes to major there in electrical engineering. He also plans to attend graduate school. In high school he's been involved in Math League.
Marshall Smith, son of Kevin and Colleen Smith of St. Michael, is also studying at the U of M through the PSEO program. He plans to be math a major, and is involved with Math League as well.

Cory Rothstein, son of Thomas and Catherine Rothstein, is taking Advanced Placement courses at the high school and will attend a four-year universityβeither Iowa State or St. Cloud Stateβin the fall. He also plans on attending grad school after college. Cory is a defensive end on the football team and tight end.
