Two STMA Teachers Up for β€œLet’s Dish! Teacher of the Year” Award

Voting ends April 30, 2013.

Two teachers from the St. Michael-Albertville School DistrictΒ have been named as finalists in the 2013Β  β€œLet’s Dish! Teacher of the Year” contest.

Let's DishΒ has six locations in Minnesotaβ€”including one in nearby Maple Groveβ€”where customers can come andΒ prepare meals to freeze and eat at home. A winning teacher will be selected for each of Let's Dish's Minnesota locations. The top vote-getters will receive eight meal sessions atΒ Let’s Dish.

First grade teacher Aaron HeilΒ at Big Woods ElementaryΒ and St. Michael-Albertville High School 9-12 grade art teacher Kari Halker were among those named as finalists, according to the Let’s Dish website where the teachers were described as follows:

Aaron Heil

Mr. Heil is a loving, compassionate teacher who brings out the best in all his students. As a father of seven school-aged children, he knows how to encourage, yet challenge, his students. He has a positive rapport with his students’ parents and excels in communication through consistent emails and newsletters. He has a huge range of ability levels in his classroom, and through his diligence and commitment to each child, his students continually succeed.

Kari Halker

Kari is an amazing teacher that inspires her students to do their best and create unique pieces of art! She has led 28 students to win Minnesota Scholastic Art Awards. She is always working to help others – especially those with disabilities – to succeed. She makes class fun and her students love going to her class!

Visit the Let’s Dish! Website here, choose Maple Grove as the region, select your teacher choice and click β€œsubmit vote.”

Winners will be announced by Let’s Dish during Teacher Appreciation week, May 6-10,Β according to the business website.
