What Will Be Inside the STMA Training Facility?

A lease agreement between the city of Albertville and STMA United Soccer Club in May is leading up to a training facility for area soccer teams.

It has been nearly two months since the Albertville City Council approved an agreement to lease a building 5964 Main Avenue NE to the STMA United Soccer Club.

While soccer players haven’t had the opportunity to use the facility yet, repair work continues to move forward.

β€œThe project is moving along nicely. The City of Albertville are finalizing the final bids for the work that needs completing to bring the facility up to code.Β This portion of the project hopes to be completed soon. Once completed, work will be able to begin on the facility,” STMA United shared with community members on their website as of July 1. β€œIn the interim, the soccer club has been working diligently to locate vendors that will offer the best possible products that will used to retro fit the space for soccer use.”

Once completed, the STMA training facility will reportedly have 2,900 square feet of turf training area, office space, club store, storage space, common area for meetings and viewing, wi-fi and more.

The agreement to lease the property located 5964 Main Avenue NE in Albertville was approved at the May 6 Albertville City Council meeting.

Repairs of approximately $75,000 to $100,000 of repairs were needed at the building, according to the May 6 Albertville City Council minutes. The city and soccer club are sharing the costs of repairs and the club will pay rent as per the agreement with the city.

The facility is anticipated to be used by STMA United soccer teams that serve St. Michael, Albertville and surrounding areas.Β
