Whiz Kid: Albertville's Faust, 14, Earns Eagle Scout Badge
Alyx Faust will be honored at a special Eagle Scout Court of Honor Monday, Nov. 14.
In one week, 14-year-old Alex Faust will complete his journey to the Boy Scouts' highest honor, was he's given his Eagle Scout award in a special Court of Honor.Β
Faust, of Albertville, earned 24 merit badges, has served as leader of his troop and completed a major community project en route to the award.
Alyx's service project was at the Word of Peace Lutheran Cemetery, which is located near Rogers.

Leading three dozen Boy Scouts and adults, Alyx landscaped the cemetery sign and the area hosting the church's symbol of three crosses with brick, perennial plants and decorative rock. He also installed a flag pole with an American flag and appropriate spotlight. There were also two composite benches set up in the cemetery for visitors.
The project took several weeks of fundraising, planning took months and materials had to be ordered and shipped.

Alux is a member of the St. Michael Troop 541, chartered by the St. Michael Lions. He has served as scribe, patrol leader and is presently senior patrol leaders. He has attended Grey Wolf National Youth Leadership Training camp in 2010 and Many Point Scout Camp for four years.
A freshman in high school at St. Michael-Albertville, his next goal is to join the United States Marine Corps.
Alyx is the son of David and Ann Faust, and has one sister, Alyssa.
