Here are the top three stories in Jackson today:
- Caught in the act, Tanisha Moore, 18 years old, and Ashante Keys, 19 years old, were arrested yesterday by Jackson Police shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Lakeland Drive. The two women were seen as they emerged from their vehicle and attempted to rob a citizen at gunpoint. They are alleged to have conducted multiple other robberies in the Jackson area. (WLBT)
- Sara Jene and Jasmine Williams, the Artists in Residence for the year 2023, have unveiled their latest artistic endeavor named "Nurtured Roots" at the Center for Art & Public Exchange (CAPE). This captivating installation can be found outdoors, gracing the grounds of the Mississippi Museum of Art (MMA), and will be on display until Sep. 3. (Subscription: Northside Sun)
- The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District is currently discharging water from the Ross Barnett Reservoir also known as the "Rez. The river at the Jackson gage is expected to crest at 31.5 feet this Saturday, Jun. 24. Although it is considered a minor flood, some homes in the Jackson area could be affected. (WJTV)
