Affton Man Charged with Child Sodomy in Cases Dating Back to 1987

An 83-year-old Affton man was charged by prosecutors Monday with five counts of sodomizing a child in incidents dating back to 1987.

According to St. Louis County Police documents, Andrew W. Ford, of the 9600 block of Sterling Place, committed sexually deviant acts on five occasions with a child between Sept. 1, 1987 and Sept. 1, 1991. The child was between 5 and 9 years old at the time.

Bond was set at $100,000.

Ford already was on the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. He pleaded guilty in 2003 to three counts of first-degree sexual misconduct involving display of a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to five years in prison.
